N29 53 69 W81 18 55, St. Augustine, FL

Well we finally got out of Oriental NC after getting Johesa pulled out of the water to have her bottom checked out after hitting the log in the Dismal Swamp. Everything checked out OK, thank you Dufour for building a solid ship.
Continuing south we stopped at an anchorage and dropped the hook next to a sunken ship. Makes you wonder but it turned out to be a good spot. The next day brought us to Beaufort NC for a quick tour then left that night for an offshore passage to Wrightsville Beach NC where we rode out some bad weather that was coming our way. Here is Jessie and I enjoying a day at the beach. Its been really cold here but I don't expect any sympathy from our MN friends.
From Wrightsville Beach we anchored in along the ICW for the next few days. The cold continued until it started to rain but the boat needed washing anyway. These are the days it kind of sucks having a dog as crew. No matter what the weather she still needs to get to shore to do her business.
Made it to Charleston SC and spent a few days at the marina cleaning the boat, reprovisioning and touring the town. Cindy and I enjoyed martinis on the rooftop bar at sunset before we left for the next leg.
This was going to be another offshore passage of about 170 NM so we left in the morning and arrived at Fernandina Beach FL. Can't believe we are finally in Florida. The passage took us about 27 hours and Jessie would not go until we hit land. What a bladder!
Spent a couple of nights anchored at Fernandina Beach then went outside again to St. Augustine FL. This was a day trip and very nice weather. Got the spinnaker out of mothballs and had a great day. Cindy spent some time on the bow getting close to the sea life. We have seen dolphins all over the place and a few sea turtles, no Whales yet.
We will stay in St. Augustine one more night as there are thunderstorms predicted them continue south. I think we will stay on the ICW for a while because the depths seem pretty good. It's hard to believe that we have been out here for 5 months now. We hope you are all well and busily preparing for the holidays.
Johesa back to 16.
